Yes, carousels are beautiful indeed. Circling, spinning, twirling round in a kaleidoscope of bright colors, happy faces and merry music.
But it takes a while before you realise the colors make you dizzy.
The happy faces irk you- they're as fake as a clown's painted smile.
The merry music? Deafening. But you can't seem to block them out by covering your ears, can you?
What's left to do when your sights are blinded, your feelings mistrusted and your hearing muffled?
Hop off the carousel, you hear the crowd shouting.
It's not an easy step. You may stumble. You may fall. The momentum may catch you off-guard. Each step is laced with doubt and uncertainty as you struggle to stand firmly on the ground. After all, you may have forgotten what it feels like after drifting for so long.
But you have nothing more to risk. You've already been through the worst. Always remember that.
When you think of the excitement and happiness of when you first set foot onto the carousel, remind yourself that carousels are beautiful- but that's all they are. Just like memories.
Step out. Don't let the kaleidoscope of illusions trap you again.
My hand will be there to steady you whenever you need me :)
